Course Description

It’s easy to think of Body Image as an issue that doesn’t crop up until the teen years, but in fact children will begin forming the basis for a healthy - or unhealthy - body image at a very young age.

The 7-Point Parental Compass is a core, down to earth parenting approach to help start the conversation with children about the things they see or do. If you haven’t taken our "Raising Resilient Kids: Intro to the Parental Compass" course, we suggest you do so to get a better understanding of how it works.

What Will I Learn?

  • How children form a ‘schema’ about themselves and how they fit into the world.
  • The difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and why that matters when it comes to how kids perceive themselves.
  • Practical tips and strategies you can use to help foster a healthy body image in your growing child.

Overall, this course will help you encourage your child to have a positive self esteem that minimizes the importance of appearance in favour of being healthy and strong.
